Early career began as Technical Director with Debari Associates in 1996, and briefly as Technical Director with Researchers Inc in 1999. Moved to Cable & Wireless as Solutions Support Manager in April 2000, rising to IT Manager and then Project Lead (transformation programme HQ in Kingston, Jamaica). Became Regional Head Customer Solutions Delivery at LIME (Landline Internet Mobile Entertainment), the brand name for Cable & Wireless in the Caribbean, in January 2009 (Barbados). This involved coordinating a team of 19 Product Owners and Project Managers across 13 countries to synchronize the successful implementation of products and services throughout the various islands. Progressed to Regional Product Manager – Broadband and VAS in November 2011, and was instrumental in designing and implementing new Value Adds to differentiate and strengthen the Broadband product.
In 2015, undertook a project to set up and launch a new radio station in Grenada, Power 95 FM, and was responsible for envisioning creation of the brand and implementing the entire project. This included raising funds, sourcing site location, and overseeing the design and build of the station, and recruiting the team.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, establishing strong ongoing networks with the entire range of key stakeholders at all levels from C-level executives to engineers, and coordinating with internal teams globally spread. A skilled negotiator with well-developed influencing and persuasion sales, successfully agreeing favourable contracts with new customers. Technically astute and commercially aware with excellent entrepreneurial skills and financial acumen.

Over the years she has been involved in every sector within the tourism industry with a blend of local and international experience including the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA), Walt Disney World, and the Food and United Nations Agricultural Organization (FAO).
A graduate of London’s University of Westminster with an MA in Marketing Communications, Tornia was awarded the Best Marketing Communications Project of 2017. Today Ms. Charles is an accomplished Tourism and Marketing Specialist.
She is a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing. She is an Instructor at the St. George’s University, delivering courses in International Marketing as part of the MBA program, as well as Consumer Behavior and Sales Management at the undergraduate level. She is also the founder of Marylebone (mar-lee-bonne) Inc – a Grenada based marketing agency which provides creative marketing solutions to corporate clients to enhance visibility and increase revenues.
Ms. Charles is passionate about entrepreneurship, consumer rights, and motivating other women to grow to their full potential. She is now a member of the Caribbean Women in Leadership Organization – the Grenada Chapter, which focuses on the growth of female leaders and entrepreneurs in the Caribbean.
Whenever she isn’t developing new ideas for her clients, she enjoys reading non-fiction books, travelling, or looking at podcasts interviewing entrepreneurs and other professionals in various industries.
